Microsoft 365 settings enabled by default for newly created Engage communities

Newly created Microsoft Viva Engage communities will have Microsoft 365 group settings enabled by default, subscribing members to community emails and calendar invites. Community owners can adjust these settings in the My Account portal. Rollout completes by mid-October 2026; no admin action is required.

Microsoft Viva Engage is updating newly created Engage communities so Microsoft 365 group settings for community member calendar and email subscriptions are enabled by default.

This change helps community members receive community emails and calendar invitations by default for newly created communities, supporting awareness and participation in new Engage communities.
