Microsoft Dataverse – Information about the transition to usage-based billing for Business Applications tools

As part of a broader platform alignment, Business Applications tools are moving to usage-based billing. Starting October 24, 2026, Dataverse MCP tool execution will incur usage-based billing charges instead of the fixed Microsoft Copilot Studio rate card.

How does this affect me?
Starting October 24, 2026, Dataverse MCP tool execution will be subject to usage-based billing charges, including when usage was previously included with Dynamics 365 Premium or Microsoft 365 Copilot user subscription licenses.

Please note that this change does not apply to agents built on the standard harness in Copilot Studio.

Licensing prerequisites remain unchanged, including the requirement for a Dynamics 365 Enterprise or Premium license to access Dynamics 365 data.
