Microsoft SharePoint: Changes to the FAQ web part authoring experience

The SharePoint FAQ web part will shift AI-assisted FAQ creation to Copilot in SharePoint, while retaining manual FAQ editing in the web part. Rollout starts late October 2026. Existing content remains unchanged, requiring no migration. No admin action needed; inform authors and update training accordingly.

We are updating the SharePoint FAQ web part authoring experience. The FAQ web part will provide a standard, non-AI experience for manually creating, editing, and managing FAQ content. AI-assisted FAQ creation and import capabilities will move to the Copilot in SharePoint authoring experience, where authors can use natural language prompts and selected grounding sources to generate FAQ content that is saved to the compatible FAQ web part. Existing FAQ web parts and their content will continue to render; no content migration is necessary.

• General Availability (Worldwide and GCC): Rollout begins in late October 2026 and is expected to complete in early November 2026.
