How does this affect me?
Associates can collect multiple orders in a single action, add extra items within the same transaction, and capture the pickup person's name and signature for audit purposes. For orders that aren't collected, the ability to unpick lines and release inventory helps prevent stock from being held unnecessarily.
This release enables:
- Quick pickup operation: A new Quick pickup operation lets associates pick one or more orders or order lines for a single customer without navigating to the transaction screen. It is available when:
- The customer is set up to pay on account.
- The order is fully paid or authorized.
- Pickup dialog enhancements: The pickup dialog includes a Pickup all action to select all eligible lines in one step, along with barcode scanning to confirm quantities. Completing the pickup invoices the selected order lines and captures any open payment authorization.
- Adding carryout items during checkout pickup: During the checkout to pickup flow, associates can add additional carryout items to the transaction. A single payment covers both the new items and any remaining balance, so the customer isn't required to complete a separate transaction.
- Signature and name capture: For B2B scenarios where pickups often occur without a card payment, associates can capture the pickup person's name and signature. This information is applied to all orders selected in the same pickup session and is stored for audit purposes.
- Unpicking order lines: When a customer doesn't collect goods, associates can unpick staged order lines. This action allows the order to be canceled and returns reserved inventory to available stock.
This message is for awareness, and no action is required. When the preview is available, review your Store Commerce point of sale (POS) layout and operation configurations, and verify B2B customer account settings to prepare for Quick pickup and signature capture.
