How does this affect me?
This feature brings the standard Release to warehouse (RTW) process from Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management into the Store Commerce app and call center workflows.
- Automatic batch release: A scheduled batch job runs at regular intervals and automatically releases eligible open orders to the warehouse.
- Expedited and rush release: Associates can mark an order or individual order lines as Expedited or Rush in the Store Commerce app. This action triggers an immediate, synchronous release to the warehouse instead of waiting for the next batch run. The Store Commerce app displays a confirmation message that indicates whether the release was successful. The expedite flag is passed to the warehouse management system so that warehouse workers can prioritize picking for the order.
- Guardrails and safeguards: Associates receive a warning when they edit an order that has already been released to the warehouse. Fulfillment rejection is blocked after an order has been released. Carryout lines in advanced warehouse management stores are processed through a dedicated non–license plate location.
