Value insights for Copilot Cowork in Microsoft 365 admin center

The Microsoft 365 admin center introduces a Value tab for Copilot Cowork, providing dashboards on credit use, estimated assisted employee hours, active users, and task categories. Available worldwide mid-September 2026, it helps admins analyze usage patterns and communicate Cowork's organizational impact with updated methodologies.

[What and why:]

We’re introducing the Value tab for Copilot Cowork in the Microsoft 365 admin center. This dashboard brings together Copilot credit consumption, estimated employee time assisted, active user activity, and task category details so admins can identify usage patterns and communicate the potential impact of Cowork within their organization.

The details provided in the Cowork dashbaord are calculated using a methodology optimized for Cowork.

[Impact on your organization:]

After this update is available, admins can open the Microsoft 365 admin center and go to Copilot > Cowork > Value to review high-level Cowork results for a selected reporting period.

The dashboard supports the following time views:

• • Month to date: Data from the first day of the current calendar month through the latest available data refresh.
  • Rolling last 28 days: Data for the most recent 28-day period through the latest available data refresh.

Admins can review:

• • Total credits: The number of Copilot credits used by Cowork during the selected period.
  • Cowork Assisted hours: A directional estimate of employee hours that benefited from Cowork during the selected time period. These estimates are calculated using an updated methodology that categorizes activities into common types of work and applies estimated time impacts informed by productivity research and observed usage pattern. • Active Cowork users: The number of active Cowork users during the selected period.
• Credits spent by task category: A breakdown of users, assisted hours, and Copilot credit consumption across different types of work. Supported categories include:
  • Analysis and research
  • Document and content creation
  • Email workflows
  • Meeting workflows
  • Communication workflows
  • Specialized workflows
  • Code generation and debugging
  • General assistance and Other work
