Microsoft is introducing organizational skills support for Copilot in PowerPoint. These reusable skills can help users apply organization-specific guidance when working with Copilot in PowerPoint for the web, PowerPoint desktop for Windows, and PowerPoint for Mac.

Tenant admins will be able to add and share organizational skills through the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Frontier: We will begin rolling out in end of August 2026 and expect to complete by early September 2026.

Who is affected: 

  • M365 admins and eligible users of Copilot in PowerPoint.

Platforms:

  • PowerPoint for the web
  • PowerPoint desktop for Windows
  • PowerPoint for Mac

After this rollout:

  • Tenant admins will be able to add and share organizational skills for Copilot in PowerPoint.
  • Shared skills will provide users with reusable, organization-specific guidance when they use Copilot in supported PowerPoint experiences.
  • Tenant admins will manage these skills through the Microsoft 365 admin center.
  • Users will be able to access shared organizational skills in PowerPoint for the web, PowerPoint desktop for Windows, and PowerPoint for Mac.

If your organization plans to use shared organizational skills:

  • Identify the tenant admins who will manage the skills.
  • Determine which organizational skills should be available to PowerPoint users.
  • Establish an internal process for creating, reviewing, approving, publishing, and maintaining shared skills.
  • Update your internal user guidance and support materials for Copilot in PowerPoint as appropriate.
  • Ensure eligible users have access to supported PowerPoint experiences and meet the applicable Microsoft 365 Copilot requirements.
