Summary
Details
[What and Why:]
Microsoft is simplifying taskbar pinning management from the Microsoft 365 admin center by focusing the built-in pinning control exclusively on the Microsoft 365 Copilot app. Companion apps (Files, Calendar, and People) will no longer be pinned through this control.
This change improves deployment consistency and manageability by establishing Microsoft 365 Copilot as the primary productivity entry point while reducing unintended companion app pinning. Organizations that require companion app pinning can continue using Microsoft Intune taskbar policies.
