Dynamics 365 Finance - Deploy preconfigured demo assets for Business performance planning

We are announcing the ability to deploy preconfigured demo solution assets in Dataverse to support Business performance planning demonstrations and enable consistent Power BI planning experiences in Dynamics 365 Finance. This feature will reach general availability on May 31, 2026.

How does this affect me?
This feature significantly accelerates the evaluation, enablement, and demonstration of Business performance planning by eliminating the need to manually design planning structures, shared dimensions, or sample datasets in Dataverse.

The solution package installs a curated set of planning dimensions, fact tables, planning logic, and representative sample data aligned to core Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) scenarios. These assets establish the foundational planning layer in Dataverse required for downstream Power BI planning and analysis experiences, without requiring manual model design or configuration.

Partners, technical specialists, and customers can quickly explore realistic planning scenarios, such as strategic planning, workforce planning, OPEX, CAPEX, and revenue forecasting, without investing time in initial model setup. This improves time to value, increases demo consistency, and helps stakeholders understand how Business performance planning can support enterprise planning use cases.
