Plan for Change: Intune introduces support for Multiple Managed Accounts in supported MAM-enabled apps

Intune will roll out Multiple Managed Accounts (MMA) in supported MAM-enabled apps like Teams and Outlook for iOS from June to July 2026. Users can sign in with multiple managed accounts, with app protection policies applied per account. Admins should review app support, policy settings, and inform users about mixed-view impacts.

Intune is introducing Multiple Managed Accounts (MMA) for Intune mobile application management (MAM) in supported apps. This capability allows users to sign in with more than one managed account within the same app, while ensuring app protection policies are enforced independently per account. This update is designed to support scenarios such as consultants working across organizations, mergers and acquisitions, and users managing multiple mailboxes within the same tenant.

[When this will happen:]

We will begin slowly rolling out this feature starting early-June 2026 and expect to complete the rollout by early-July 2026. The initial rollout of MMA will be available for the Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Outlook for iOS apps. Stay tuned to What’s new in Intune for more release information.

[How this will affect your organization:]

Once available, users will be able to add and use multiple managed accounts in MMA supported apps. App protection policies will be applied per account, based on admin configuration. Admins should be aware of the following behaviors:

• Only apps that explicitly support MMA can use this capability; wrapped apps are not supported.
• On apps with mixed-views, such as Outlook inbox or calendar showing data from multiple accounts, Intune enforces the most restrictive data protection behavior, including blocking copy/paste and screenshots.
• This mixed-view behavior can also impact users who have a single managed account combined with unmanaged accounts in supported apps. For example, Microsoft Outlook inbox or calendar in mixed view with data from both managed and unmanaged accounts.

[What you need to do to prepare:]

No action is required to enable MMA. However, we recommend that admins:

• Review app support and version requirements for MMA supported apps.
• There are currently no admin controls to explicitly enable or disable MMA. However, existing settings that control account sign‑in eligibility or app‑level enforcement may indirectly block MMA behavior. To ensure MMA functions as expected, we recommend reviewing your existing app protection policy settings that may restrict multiple managed account sign-in, such as allowed account configurations on iOS or Android.
• Notify users about the new capability and how this may affect mixed-view scenarios.
