New Overview experience and agent categories in Agent Dashboard

Microsoft Viva's Agent Dashboard will add a new Overview tab by early June 2026, offering insights on active agents, usage, creator types, and business process categories. Access requires at least 50 M365 Copilot Premium or Viva Insights licenses and respects existing VFAM controls. Organizations should review access and update training accordingly.

[Introduction]

Customers can now view and understand their agent landscape through the new Overview page that will be included as part of the Agent Dashboard in Microsoft Viva. This experience provides at-a-glance insights on agent adoption in their organizations, visibility on who is creating agents used across the organization, and details on what business process categories these agents are used for.

[When this will happen:]

General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout will begin in late May 2026 and is expected to complete by early June 2026.

Who is affected:

• Administrators and leaders using Viva Insights Copilot Analytics
• Organizations with access to the Agent Dashboard
• Users permitted through Viva Insights VFAM controls
• Tenant needs at least 50 M365 Copilot (Premium) licenses or 50 Viva Insights licenses assigned to use this feature

What will happen:

• A new Overview tab will be added to the Agent Dashboard within Viva Insights (Copilot Analytics). The Overview tab will provide:
  • Insights into agent activity, including:
    • Number of active agents
    • Top used agents
    • Top groups of active agent users
    • Visibility into agents by creator type and their associated business process categories

• New agent business process categories will be available to help classify and clarify how agents are used across the organization.

• Filter agents by business process category

• Existing Viva Insights VFAM access controls are respected.
• The feature is enabled by default for users who already have access to the Agent Dashboard.

• Review the new Overview experience and assess its impact on your organization’s reporting and governance practices.
• Verify who has access to the Agent Dashboard by reviewing Viva Insights VFAM controls at the:
• User level
• Group level
• Tenant level
• Engage your works council or employee representatives, if applicable.
• Update internal training materials and documentation to reflect the new Overview tab and agent categories.

Compliance area	Explanation
Admin controls	Access to the Agent Dashboard, including the new Overview tab, is governed through existing Viva Insights VFAM controls. These controls can be managed at the user, group, or tenant level and support Entra ID group-based access.
Monitoring and reporting	The new Overview tab introduces additional reporting and visibility into agent adoption, creator types, and business process categories within the Agent Dashboard.
