To streamline the video playback experience on OneDrive and SharePoint, Microsoft is retiring the noise suppression capability for video playback. Based on usage data and our ongoing efforts to simplify and optimize video experiences, this change removes a low-usage playback option while keeping core video and audio functionality unchanged.

Worldwide, GCC, GCC High, and DoD: Retirement will begin in early July 2026 and complete by early August 2026

Who is affected:
- All users who play videos stored in OneDrive or SharePoint using the web playback experience
What will happen:
- The noise suppression option will be removed from video playback controls when viewing videos stored in OneDrive or SharePoint.

- Your video files are not affected.
- No original video or audio files will be modified, re-encoded, or replaced.
- There is no impact to file storage, sharing permissions, or file integrity.
- This change only affects the playback experience.
- The noise suppression toggle will no longer be available during video playback.
- All other video and audio playback features remain available and unchanged, including:
- Playback speed controls
- Captions
- Transcripts
