Microsoft Viva Insights – Onboarding Email for Copilot Analytics

Starting March 2026, organization leaders granted Microsoft Copilot Analytics access in Viva Insights will receive a one-time onboarding email explaining their permissions and features. This default, no-action-needed update aims to help users quickly utilize Copilot Analytics. Administrators should inform support teams and review access assignments.

We’re introducing a new onboarding email experience for organization leaders who are granted access to Microsoft Copilot Analytics in Viva Insights. This email is designed to clearly notify newly enabled users of their access and help them start getting value from Microsoft Copilot Analytics immediately.

This email is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 511801.

• General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout will begin in March 2026, with completion varying by region and scale unit.

Who is affected

• Organization leaders who receive tenant‑wide access to Microsoft Copilot Analytics (Viva Insights), either through auto-identified roles or admin role assignment.

What will happen

• Newly assigned users will receive a one‑time onboarding email when they are granted Microsoft Copilot Analytics access:

   

• The email helps users understand their permissions, available insights, and how to get started.
• No existing admin configuration or policy needs to be updated.
• This experience is on by default for all tenants that enable Microsoft Copilot Analytics.

• Inform your Viva Insights administrators and AI administrators about this upcoming communication.
• Update internal support/helpdesk documentation in case leaders have questions.
