We are introducing the ability to support asynchronous payments for commerce orders in Dynamics 365 Commerce. This feature will reach general availability on March 13, 2026.
How does this affect me?
This feature enables users to create payment links for customers who are interested in a product but need more time to decide. Asynchronous payment processing supports modern payments methods that don't offer real-time payment authorization, allowing for improved transaction flexibility and sales conversion rates.
With this feature, users can create orders that include shipping details and send customers a secure payment link. If payment isn't completed within a specified time frame, the system can automatically cancel the order and release the inventory. Administrators can enable payment methods through configuration settings and feature flags.
What action do I need to take?
