To improve mobile productivity and streamline file access, Outlook for Android will soon support in-app PDF attachment previews. This update aligns with user feedback requesting faster, more integrated document viewing experiences without needing to switch apps.

[When this will happen:]

General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout begins in late November 2025 and is expected to complete by end of January 2026 (previously late December).

[How this affects your organization:]

Who is affected:

  • All users of Outlook for Android across commercial and education tenants.

What will happen:

  • Users will be able to preview PDF attachments directly within the Outlook for Android app.
  • The built-in previewer will launch automatically when a PDF is opened.
  • Users can still choose to open PDFs in other apps via the overflow menu.
  • This feature will be enabled by default; no admin configuration is required.

No action is required. This feature will be enabled automatically.
