Dynamics 365 Finance - Seamless Budget Write-Back to Dynamics 365 Finance Budget Register Entry

We are announcing the ability to complete the business planning cycle entirely within Microsoft's ecosystem through the Seamless Budget Write-Back to Budget Register Entry feature in Dynamics 365 Finance. This feature will reach general availability on October 27, 2025.

How does this affect me?
This feature enables direct synchronization of finalized planning data from Business Performance Planning into the Dynamics 365 Finance Budget Registry Entry (BRE) table structure. With this integration, organizations can move from planning to execution without manual exports or error-prone uploads. This feature includes the following capabilities:

• Direct ERP Integration: Push approved budgets from Dataverse tables in Business Performance Planning to the BRE module in Dynamics 365 Finance.
• Full granularity support: Map data with the Budget Model created in Dynamics 365 Finance and Planning Model created in Business Performance Planning.
• Flexible Data Selection: Apply filters to choose which subset of data to write back, such as specific scenarios, legal entities, departments, or periods. This allows users to perform targeted uploads instead of full dataset transfers.
• Error prevention: Includes built-in checks for data completeness and structural alignment to avoid failed uploads.
• Connected Insight: Once data is written back, it becomes immediately available for Budget Control, reporting, and analysis in Dynamics 365 Finance and Business Performance Analytics.
