Microsoft Copilot Studio – Update to Bing services terms of use for web search in Copilot Studio

We're updating how web search is delivered in Microsoft Copilot Studio. As of August 26, 2025, Copilot Studio uses Grounding with Bing Search and Grounding with Bing Custom Search APIs for web search with your agents. With this change we are transitioning from legacy APIs to an AI-enhanced solution to better support modern usage with advanced language models. The quality of responses will remain consistent, and no changes are needed to your agents or configurations.

How does this affect me?
There is no impact to Bing Custom Search functionality in Microsoft Copilot Studio. If you’ve configured web search using Bing Custom Search, your existing setup will continue to work. Configuration IDs previously generated from the Bing Custom Search portal will remain valid.

With this change, the updated Terms of Use for Grounding with Bing Search and Grounding with Bing Custom Search are in effect as of July 1, 2025. This applies to existing customers and will automatically apply to your continued use of this service after this date. If you do not agree to these terms, please disable Bing Search in Power Platform admin center.
