We’re introducing Sections with AI, a new SharePoint authoring experience that enables users to generate rich, full-fidelity page sections using natural language prompts. When this will happenGeneral Availability (Worldwide): Rollout begins early September 2025 (previously mid-August) and is expected to complete by mid-November 2025 (previously mid-October).
How this affects your organizationSections with AI will be automatically available to all SharePoint tenants with a Copilot license. This feature introduces a new way for users to create rich, full-fidelity sections on SharePoint pages using natural language prompts.
Users can:
- Add a section using AI
- Choose a prompt or write your own
- View and select multiple generated sections
- Refine your section with a prompt
These steps allow users to:
- Select or write prompts to generate new sections.
- Ground prompts in relevant files for more accurate results.
- Toggle between multiple generated options and choose their favorite.
- Refine both content and layout using natural language commands (e.g., “make the text more professional” or “add John Smith’s contact information”).
- Add the final section to the page canvas and edit it like any other section.
This feature is on by default for eligible tenants.

- No admin action is required for enablement.
- Consider notifying your users about this new capability and its benefits.
