Updated September 10, 2025: We have updated the timeline. Thank you for your patience.
Introduction
We’re introducing Multiple Camera View in the preview video for Teams Rooms on Windows, enhancing visibility and awareness for in-room participants. When enabled, the preview video on the front-of-room display and the camera settings dialog will show multiple camera streams. This helps users understand how they appear to remote participants, especially in large or complex meeting spaces.
This update is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 496148.
When this will happen
- General Availability: Rollout will begin in late September 2025 (previously mid-September) and is expected to complete by late October 2025 (previously late September).
How this affects your organization
This feature is designed to improve meeting equity and spatial awareness in environments such as multipurpose rooms, classrooms, and executive boardrooms. When multiple camera view is configured in Teams Rooms on Windows, in-room users will see a tiled preview of all active camera streams. This provides better clarity on how they are represented to remote participants.
Multiple camera view is off by default and must be configured by IT admins or room operators.
What you can do to prepare
- Inform your users about this new experience.
- Update training materials and room usage guides to reflect the new camera preview behavior.
- Review your Teams Rooms configurations to determine where multiple camera view would be beneficial.
Compliance considerations
No compliance considerations identified, review as appropriate for your organization.
