Summary
Details
To support the upcoming release of iOS/iPadOS 26 and ensure continued app protection policy (APP, also known as MAM) enforcement, update to the latest versions of the Intune App SDK and the Intune App Wrapping Tool to ensure applications stay secure and run smoothly. Important: If you do not update to the latest versions, some app protection policies may not apply to your app in certain scenarios.
Additionally, note that updating to SDK v21.0.0 or later requires your app to be registered with Microsoft Entra. Review the following GitHub announcements for more details on the specific impact:
- SDK for iOS: App Registration Requirement Will be Enforced in Version 21.0.0+ | microsoftconnect/ms-intune-app-sdk-ios - Discussion #569
- Wrapper for iOS: -ac and -ar parameters will become required in version 21.0.0 | microsoftconnect/intune-app-wrapping-tool-ios - Discussion #136
If you have questions or concerns, file an issue in the GitHub repository or reply directly to the GitHub announcement. As a best practice, always update your iOS/iPadOS apps to the latest App SDK or App Wrapping Tool to ensure that your app continues to run smoothly.
[How this will affect your organization:]
If you have applications using the Intune App SDK or Intune App Wrapping Tool, update to the latest version to support iOS/iPadOS 26. Updating to v21.0.0 or later requires that apps must be registered with Microsoft Entra.
While it was previously possible for apps to enable Intune MAM without full Microsoft Entra configuration, this will no longer be supported starting with SDK 21.0.0. Apps that are not properly registered may fail to function or receive app protection policies.
