Summary

Microsoft Planner will be added to subscriptions that include Project for the web and Project in Teams starting June 11, 2025. This includes various Planner and Project plans. From June 30, 2025, Planner premium email notifications will require Planner to be enabled and managed through Planner web. Review the provided documentation if needed.

Details

To support the move to Planner for the web and Planner in Teams (MC1068905), Planner is being added to subscriptions that include access to Project for the web and Project in Teams. 

On or after June 11th, 2025, the Planner service plans 

  • Microsoft Planner (PROJECTWORKMANAGEMENT) for all environments (except GCC) 
  • Office 365 Planner for Government (PROJECTWORKMANAGEMENT_GOV) for GCC

will be added to the following subscriptions:

  • Planner Plan 1 (including GCC and GCCH counterparts) 
  • Planner and Project Plan 3 (including faculty, student, GCC and GCCH counterparts) 
  • Planner and Project Plan 5 (including faculty, student, GCC and GCCH counterparts) 

Subscriptions that include Dynamics Project Operations and Dynamics Project Operations Attach like Dynamics 365 Plan 1 Enterprise Edition 

The Planner service plans directly support the infrastructure required to run Microsoft Planner and Planner premium.  After June 30th, Planner premium email notification will require Planner to be enabled in your organization and email notifications settings can be managed only through Planner web.

[How this affects your organization:]

If your organization already has a subscription that includes Planner and it is enabled, there will be no impact to you.

On or after June 11th, 2025, the service plans will be “on” by default for the subscriptions referenced above and Microsoft Planner will be available in your organization.   On or after June 30th, Planner premium email notifications will require Planner to be enabled for your organization to continue to work. Email notification settings can be managed only through Planner web.
