Updated August 21, 2025: We have updated the content. Thank you for your patience.

The Teams Video Clips recording limit is increasing from 1 minute to 5 minutes so that users can share longer asynchronous video messages with their teammates.

[When this will happen:]

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out by late May 2025 and expect to complete by early September 2025 (previously late June).

General Availability (GCC, GCC High): We will begin rolling out early September 2025 (previously mid-July) and expect to complete by mid-September 2025 (previously mid-August).

General Availability (DoD): We will begin rolling out mid-September 2025 (previously mid-July) and expect to complete by mid-September 2025 (previously mid-August).

[How this will affect your organization:]

Users will now be able to record Teams Video Clips up to 5 minutes long.

[What you need to do to prepare:]

This rollout will happen automatically with no admin action required. Tenants who have already disabled Teams Video Clips won't have any impact. If tenants have Teams Video Clips enabled, they will automatically see the recording limit increase.
