Summary

Starting February 25, 2025, users of the Windows 365 web client will be prompted to transition to the Windows App, which will fully replace the web client on May 1, 2025. By June 1, 2025, the web client will no longer be supported. Users can download the Windows App from various app stores or access it via the web. No action is required for the transition, but users are encouraged to switch manually beforehand.

Details

Starting February 25, 2025, users accessing the Windows 365 web client will see an in-app notification prompting them to transition to Windows App. Windows App has been generally available since September 2024 and can already be enabled via a toggle in the Windows 365 web client.

On May 1, 2025, the Windows 365 web client will be fully replaced and automatically redirect to Windows App. By June 1, 2025, the Windows 365 web client will no longer be supported or accessible.

Windows App is available across all major platforms and provides access to existing Windows 365 Cloud PC connections. Users can download Windows App from their respective platform’s app store or access it via the web.

  • Windows Devices: Available in the Microsoft Store or accessible via web browser (no installation required).
  • Apple Devices (macOS & iOS): Available in the Apple App Store.
  • Android Devices: Available in Google Play.

Transition details

No action is required for existing Windows 365 web client users. The transition to Windows App will be seamless, with users automatically redirected starting May 1, 2025. Users can also manually switch at any time by enabling the toggle in the Windows 365 web client.
