Dynamics 365 Field Service: Create and apply reusable maintenance plans to assets

Business value Organizations can define a consistent maintenance strategy once and use it across groups of similar assets instead of designing a separate plan for every asset. This reduces setup effort, limits configuration differences across locations and teams, and provides a repeatable way to bring growing asset populations under managed maintenance. Reusable templates also make maintenance standards easier to govern. Asset and service leaders can establish the expected maintenance program for an equipment type while allowing each asset to have the plan it needs for ongoing execution. Feature detail Create maintenance plan templates that describe the maintenance program for an asset model, manufacturer, product, SKU, or asset category. A template brings together the maintenance activities and scheduling rules that should apply to that type of equipment. Use a template to establish a maintenance plan for one or more eligible customer assets. The resulting asset maintenance plan provides the asset-specific context used to schedule activities, forecast maintenance, and generate future work. The template and assignment experience helps users identify the appropriate standard for an asset and consistently establish maintenance coverage without rebuilding the complete maintenance definition each time.
